Commissions

This information is accurate as of March 2023. Please read it thoroughly! If there are any questions not answered on this page, please email me at mgtfart@gmail.com or send a message on one of my social platforms as linked below or in the sidebar.

Pricing

Base prices

Line art: $30 per character. Simple line art of your concept in black and white.

Flat colors: $45 per character. My usual level of finished art; your concept delivered in full color with no shading.

Fully shaded: $60 per character. "The works"; your concept fully colored and complete with shading, highlights, and other lighting details as appropriate.

Please note that costs may be higher for more intricate or complicated character designs or for more complex posing. Detailed body patterns, tattoos, or unusual angles or perspectives are some of the details which may incur additional costs in excess of what is mentioned above. Due to my creative workflow, sketches, in the traditional sense, are not offered or available; The least developed artwork you'll see in any part of the process is line art.

Extras

NSFW variants: $5 extra per character on line art, $10 extra per character on flat colors, $15 extra per character on fully shaded pieces. Adds nude male variants with soft and hard penises and usually release of fluids. This charge does not apply to female characters.

Additional clothing variants or stylistic alternates: $10 extra per character on line art, $15 extra per character on flat colors, $20 extra per character on fully shaded pieces. Adds additional variants to the piece, such as alternate shirts, pants, shorts, or underwear, or a different head or body style change which does not affect the overall posing of the piece. Depending on the scenario, up to one full outfit may be included with the commission and is thus not subject to this charge. Additional charges may apply for complex or intricate designs, regardless of whether the outfit is included.

Backgrounds: Backgrounds may be an additional charge based on their complexity. There are no set rates for backgrounds given how vast the differences can be in background design. A basic background, such as a solid color or relatively simple backdrop, may be included as part of the commission depending on the scenario.

Props or objects: Props or objects interacting with a character may incur an additional charge depending on their complexity and their specific incorporation into the scene.

Other projects

Depending on your idea, I offer a variety of options to bring your concept to life. Below are a few other creative options to consider:

Transformation sequences: Transformation sequences are charged as if each stage in the transformation was a separate character. So, for example, a five-stage transformation sequence would be charged as if it were five characters. Some discounts may be offered owing to the nature of sequences at my discretion, but expect to be charged as if you were commissioning multiple characters.

Screenshot edits: Commissions for screenshot edits are charged at full price, as listed above. Please include as high-quality an image as you can when commissioning an edit. Small images may be upscaled; poor-quality or blurry images may be refused or rejected outright.

Comic projects: I'd love to work with you on a comic project. Given the added length and complexity of these projects, however, I'm unable to offer concrete pricing, and thus comics will need to be discussed directly. Expect prices for each comic page to be higher than for single pieces of art or transformation sequences, given the inherent intricacies in comics.

Writing commissions: Writing commissions are available, particularly for characters and series I already know quite well or currently write for. Due to the unpredictable nature of storytelling, I'm charging on an hourly work performed basis rather than based on word count. A minimum $25 deposit is required upfront before work on the commission begins.

Content guidelines

In general, I can handle a variety of ideas and concepts -- I've seen a lot in my time as an artist! However, this level of experience also means there are some things I won't draw, or some things that may need more consideration to discern. Ultimately, I reserve the right to refuse or reject a proposed commission for any reason at my own discretion. If I'm not comfortable drawing it, I won't draw it. If I'm not comfortable working with you, I may choose not to work with you. The below is not a complete or exhaustive list of what I am or am not willing to draw, and if you have any questions, please contact me directly to discuss a potential commission concept.

I will happily draw the following:

  • Western fictional characters from popular visual media -- most characters are okay!
  • Original characters
  • Some furry and anthro art of a relatively humanoid nature
  • NSFW content, including nudity and sexual acts
  • Male characters
  • Female characters
  • Male muscle, obviously
  • Male transformation art
  • Female-to-male gender transformation art

I absolutely will NOT draw the following:

  • Scat fetish, waste products, or "toilet play"
  • Watersports fetish or urination
  • Fart fetish or flatulence
  • Diapers, diaper fetish, or "adult baby/diaper lover" content
  • Foot fetish, excessive focus on feet, or similar content abnormally large feet, shoes, or socks
  • Guro, non-canon missing body parts, or excessive blood or violence
  • Vomit or regurgitation
  • Vore or digestion fetish art of any kind or description
  • Incest or similarly inappropriate familial relationships
  • Real people of any description, including celebrities, public figures, online personalities, friends, family, or loved ones, and live-action representations of fictional characters and any further content based on those representations
  • Femboys, and all crossdressing, excessively effeminate or submissive male characters of any kind or description
  • Physical or situational emasculation unwarranted by character archetypes or descriptions ("revenge of the nerds"-style content and other karmic comeuppances are allowed)
  • Male-to-female gender transformation art
  • Religious, religion-related, or blasphemous themes or iconography of any type or description
  • Politically-charged imagery
  • Extremely young characters or any art which excessively focuses on the youth of such characters
  • Art which endorses or furthers any form of discrimination, hatred, or harassment, including but not limited to racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, ableism, religious intolerance, stalking, or cyberbullying
Commissions which include content in the list above, including if deemed to include said content through stealth, dishonesty, or omission, will be rejected, refused, or not completed, and you will not be eligible for a refund. Further, particularly egregious violations of the restrictions on this list may jeopardize your ability to commission me in future. Just be honest, be respectful, and don't try to get around the limits on what I'm comfortable with drawing.

I might draw the following:

Anime or manga characters

I have very limited experience working with anime or manga characters or art styles, but I'm willing to consider creating art of characters from Eastern fiction works. They may not be produced in a style fully representative of or faithful to the typical anime art style.

Gay or homoerotic subject matter

I am a straight artist, and despite the added male focus within much of my art, I have no interest in any sort of homoerotic or homoromantic content. That said, I do understand that I operate within close proximity to gay artists, fans of gay art, and art communities which focus on homoerotic themes or male-on-male sexuality. I may be willing to draw certain types of this subject matter for a considerable additional charge over and above the prices and rates listed above.

For the purposes of enforcing these guidelines, "gay or homoerotic subject matter" includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
  • Considerable focus on a male character's buttocks or rectal area, through posing or contextual detail
  • Active use, or implied prior or future use, of any sex toy intended for rectal insertion, including dildos
  • Any and all references to prostate stimulation
  • "Sounding" of any description
  • Male nipple play or pectoral groping
  • Considerably enlarged male nipples or pectorals
  • Male pregnancy of any description, including alpha/beta/omega dynamics
  • Any sexual or romantic act involving multiple male characters exclusively, including kissing, frotting, fingering, fisting, blowjobs, or penetrative sex

Acceptance of any commission which contains gay or homoerotic subject, and what additional charges may apply, is very dependent on the specific context and details of the intended concept for the art.

Unusual body configurations

I may be willing to draw unusual character configurations, including characters with additional sets of body parts ("multilimb" or "multicock"), non-human genitalia, NSFW art of transgender characters, or "futanari", "d-girl", or "c-boy" pieces, assuming the concept of the art is otherwise allowable in accordance with the content guidelines above. Acceptance of any commissions which contain this subject matter is dependent on the specific context and details of the intended artistic concept.

The ordering process

1. Availability and contact

To start the commissioning process, check my social media and art profiles (DeviantArt, Twitter, FurAffinity, Tumblr, Itaku, Baraag) for announcements of open commissions. If commissions are open, email me at mgtfart@gmail.com or send a direct message on those social media and art platforms linked above to begin discussion of a commission. Discussion may move to email or Discord for easier service to serious or established commissioners to explain the concept they would like to commission.

If you are new to or inexperienced with the commissioning process, or looking for a simple commission with few details which may need to be directly negotiated, consider using my Artistree or Commiss.io pages for easier service.

By requesting a commission, you affirm that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of majority in your area or jurisdiction, and that you are legally and financially capable of purchasing and paying for the full cost of your commission. You also understand that you are interested in a piece of artwork in a particular art style, and thus are allowing for a certain level of artistic license to create the art. Failure to acknowledge and understand these responsibilities may result in refusal, rejection, non-completion, or non-delivery of your commission.

Please be as specific as possible upfront with the art you'd like to commission. Please include a variety of visual references for characters, poses, outfits, and scenes you intend for me to include, especially if you are looking for something particular, specific, or unusual. Commission concepts which are not clear, direct, and specific with the intended artistic concept have a higher likelihood of being rejected, refused, or ignored. Please do not send real-life NSFW photos as reference material for your commission; I am not comfortable with receiving that kind of content. If you are looking for an NSFW commission which needs specific illustrative reference, you may send drawings or other illustrations of your intended concept instead.

2. Billing and payment

You will be sent an invoice listing all itemized charges related to your commission. Payment for your commission, in full or in part, is due upfront before any commission work begins. It is strongly encouraged to pay the full amount of the commission upfront as soon as possible after the invoice is issued. Full upfront payment is mandatory for line art commissions. Full payment of invoices are due no later than 30 days from the date they're issued; after 30 days, additional charges for late or outstanding payments may apply. If you do not pay in full upfront, you will not receive your art until the remainder of the balance is paid. Payments are only accepted through Stripe, Artistree, Commiss.io, or PayPal, and the payment methods they allow. If necessary, please refer to the invoice number listed on your descriptive, itemized invoice when making your payment in order to ensure a smooth buying experience and the most discreet handling of your commission information.

3. Updates on art and art completion

You will receive regular updates through the means in which the commission was discussed regarding the development and production of your artwork. Art will be delivered upon its completion if payment has been received in full. If payment has not been received in full, art will be withheld unless and until full payment is received.

During the process of creating your commissioned artwork, you are allowed some ability to request edits or changes to make your commission as faithful to your idea as possible; however, if you request an excessive number of changes, or if those changes require considerable additional creative work (such as multiple drawings or retools late into the art process), you may be charged for the inconvenience arising from the unexpected additional workload, or these changes may be refused outright.

All commissions will be delivered exclusively as digital imagery which can be downloaded to the commissioner's computer or other devices. No physical artwork will ever be issued, shipped, or otherwise delivered from the artist. Unless stipulated in advance, by commissioning art you agree that the art may be publicly posted by the artist without restriction. Additionally, unless explicitly requested, all artwork will be issued upon completion, irrespective of any specific timeline or due date. If you are looking for a commission to be completed in advance of a particular date or occasion, please specify such, and ensure that you are ordering your commission far enough in advance for it to be reasonably produced ahead of the intended date.

All commission sales and purchases are considered final with the art delivered "as is"; no refunds will generally be offered except in exceptional circumstances or in the event the artist cancels the commission. In the event a refund is issued, you agree to relinquish all ownership of the commission and to delete and remove any copies which may be in your possession.

Common questions

Are you not considering requests anymore?

I was already quite selective with taking requests in the past, and I will only be getting more selective now. If you really want to see a particular scenario from me, your best bet is to just commission the art you want.

Where can I see examples of your art?

You can see a variety of examples of my work here on this blog, or on my social media and art site profiles (DeviantArtTwitterFurAffinityTumblrItaku, and Baraag).

When are you open for commissions?

I will post the status of my commission availability on my social media and art pages. If I do not explicitly state commissions are currently open somewhere on those pages, assume they are closed.

Can I order a commission from you in advance or join your waitlist?

You cannot reserve a future commission or join a waitlist at this time. Once commissions are closed, I am not taking any further requests until I announce that commissions have reopened.

Are there any restrictions to what I can do with my commission after I receive it?

You can only use the artwork you commission from me for your own personal use and enjoyment, including sharing the art online, and reasonable non-transformative reuses of art, such as reference work for future commissions or online profile pictures. In the event you post the art publicly, you must properly credit and attribute my work with both my username and a link to either this blog or one of my social media accounts (linked elsewhere on this page), as appropriate (for example, mentioning my Twitter handle in your tweet). It is against my commissioning terms of service to attribute my art in any other way, including through "credit to the artist" or similar generic language.

This additionally means you cannot use commissioned artwork from me in any capacity for any commercial or business purpose, to resell or make money using the artwork, as an input for artificial-intelligence-based generative art tools (such as "img2img" software), or for any blockchain-related use, including NFTs. These are not permitted under any circumstances, and at present, these restrictions are non-negotiable.

"Recolors" or "coloring commissions" by other artists of line art commissions are not allowed without my express permission and approval.

Official commissioning terms of service

By requesting a commission, you affirm the following:

  • That you have read and understand these terms of service and the content guidelines above.
  • You are at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of majority in your area or jurisdiction.
  • You are legally and financially capable of purchasing and paying for the full cost of your commission.
  • You understand that you are interested in a piece of artwork in a particular artist's style, and thus are allowing for a certain level of artistic license to create the art.

Failure to acknowledge and understand these responsibilities may result in refusal, rejection, non-completion, or non-delivery of your commission.

All commissions will be delivered exclusively as digital imagery which can be downloaded to the commissioner's computer or other devices. No physical artwork will ever be issued, shipped, or otherwise delivered from the artist to the commissioner.

The commission will not be delivered until full payment is received. If full payment is not received before the due date listed on the invoice, the art will continue to be withheld from the commissioner and additional charges for nonpayment may be applied at the artist's discretion.

All commission sales and purchases are considered final with the art delivered "as is"; no refunds will generally be offered except in exceptional circumstances. In the event a refund is issued, you agree to relinquish all ownership of the commission and to delete and remove any copies which may exist in the commissioner's possession.

You understand that it is your responsibility to be clear and specific with all of the details of your commission request, and to provide all reference material requested or required to complete the artwork. Excessive ambiguity within your requested concept may result in additional charges or rejection or refusal of the commission.

The artist retains the right to refuse or reject any commission request for any reason, and the commissioner may not be entitled to the specific reason their commission request was rejected. The artist is not obligated to accept or otherwise act upon any particular commission request or concept. In the event an image or set of images is later released which bears any similarity to a particular commissioner's rejected concept, the commissioner acknowledges the similarities are entirely coincidental, unless the artwork in question is intentionally specified as derived from a rejected commission, in whole or in part.

The artist additionally maintains the right to terminate a commission in progress, without a refund offered, in the event:

  • These terms of service are violated.
  • If it is discovered that the commission content guidelines were violated through stealth, dishonesty, or omission.
  • If the commissioner subjects the artist to harassment, threats, insults, unreasonable demands not initially discussed, or other commissioner misconduct.

The artist will retain ultimate copyright to the resulting artwork, and the commissioner will receive limited rights and licenses to use, display, and share the piece. The commissioner agrees that the commissioned artwork will be exclusively for private, personal, and non-commercial use, and that it is not allowed to be miscredited, separated from artist credit or otherwise improperly credited, traced, reedited, resold, or used for any commercial or business purpose. The express consent and approval of the artist must be received by the commissioner if the commissioner seeks to use the commission in a transformative manner beyond the submission of the artwork as reference material for future commission work by this or other artists. By commissioning art you agree that the art may be publicly posted by the artist without restriction, unless otherwise stipulated. Once public, it may also be reposted on third-party websites and imageboards, of which the artist has no control nor any obligation to object to. Additionally, unless explicitly requested, all artwork will be issued upon completion, irrespective of any specific timeline or due date.
