Smokin' Greaser (commission)

The Ghost Zone is vast, the endless expanse harboring all manner of resting places for countless ghosts. With all eternity to while away, specters come and go; some stay for a while and become regulars, others are just passing through for the night. It's not too often that a young gun steps onto this old turf, but one night, that's exactly what happened. Decent shot at pool, quite the charmer if you get to know him. He went by the name Dane.

My second-ever commission is for Danganronpaquad on AO3, who wanted some art of Dane, a beefy biker brawler that's a fusion between (a much more muscular) Danny Phantom and freewheeling ghost Johnny 13, from their story Old Friends, New You, which sort of flies the flag for Danny Fenton jockification in my continued inadvertent absence from being the jock Danny writer myself. It's a story I've been eagerly invested in throughout its run, though it's been on a break for a little while. Maybe me finally posting this will spur a new chapter on?

The hard part of getting this one done was remembering that I wasn't drawing a Danny, or at least not exactly. While there's certainly a beefy jock Danny hiding somewhere in there, it's not what needed to be brought out here. Here was someone more willing to be a bruiser. It also really pushed the limits on how big I could make a guy; I'm pretty picky about not letting one's musculature get lost in a blob of shapes and angles, because at that point it just becomes unappealing. It ends up creating something of a soft upper limit to just how big a guy can get, which in some areas of muscle fandom may as well be sacrilege. But I think I fared pretty well here.

Personally, my situation isn't in the greatest shape (once again), so I'm going to emphasize commissions a bit more. If you're interested in a similar (or very different) piece of art, check out all my commissioning information here.
