When you become a rippling, musclebound hunk, life's not all about flexing and being hot and showing off. Well, it's a lot of those things, most of the time, usually. But while all that may come easy now, there's still more to you than that. It doesn't always surface, but it emerges every so often, in just the right moments. It goes to show that it's not about being the aggressive alpha people might expect of your archetype. You could just be yourself. Your bigger, beefier, beautiful self.
There's an earnestness in this one that I don't often touch upon in my art; something of a gentler jock going on here. But it also speaks to an element of my approach that I feel can sometimes get overlooked. Anyone can draw a basic meathead, and there are plenty of folks to choose from when it comes to that. But I have a real appreciation for true power fantasy, a certain muscular wish fulfillment, that requires just the right character and just the right premise and concept. Danny is someone who certainly deserves the glow-up, but you have to keep it authentic to the character; it still has to feel like him at the end of the day. Slapping a head onto an interchangeable lunk and calling it an image just isn't as fun or as endearing. It's more interesting to keep them relatively the same and give them bulkier bodies, and ask how they adapt to that, if they really do at all.
